CONTEXT

“Taken on film during a Gay Pride event in Paris some twenty years ago, this photograph reveals an unexpected and moving contrast. The theatrical presence of the figure in the foreground initially catches the eye, but then the exuberance fades and it is the gentleness of the encounter between the two faces and the tenderness of their interaction that come to the fore.”
